Pluto finance closes £12.6m Green Loan for WElink Homes’ Low Carbon Development in Suffolk

Pluto finance is delighted to announce the closing of a £12.6 million loan to WElink Homes for an innovative low carbon housing project in Bacton, Suffolk. This marks the first transaction under Pluto’s Low Carbon Lending Programme and demonstrates our commitment to sustainable development.

WElink Homes, led by CEO David Ritchie is delivering 65 high-performance, energy-efficient homes using modern methods of construction (MMC). The development consists of 43 private homes and 22 affordable homes, all achieving EPC A ratings and featuring lower embodied carbon. These homes are built using WElink’s unique modular panelised system manufactured offsite in their dedicated factory, ensuring high-quality construction with low environmental impact.

Pluto Finance is proud to be working with WElink Homes for the first time and Pluto’s innovative green lending product was able to offer WELink an attractive discounted interest rate for the low carbon development.

This project stands out not only for its environmental credentials but also for its pioneering use of MMC. The modular homes, manufactured in WElink’s factory allow for a faster and more efficient building process, reducing both waste and carbon emissions.
